Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a procedure in which a chemical exfoliant (usually an acid) is applied to the skin in order to cause controlled, accelerated skin regeneration & rejuvenation.

Skin Studio uses the mesopeel range of advanced peels from Mesoestetic® and offers a wide range of peels for different skin concerns.

During your skin consultation, it will be determined which peel is right for you, based on various factors including your skin concerns and skin tone, as assessed using the Fitzpatrick Scale. The mesopeel range includes peels to target the following concerns:

• acne & congestion
• signs of ageing
• pigmentation issues
• sensitivity & rosacea

Before:

Due to the very 'active' nature of the peels, it is vital to properly prepare your skin at home for a minimum of 2 weeks immediately before your first peel, using specific prep products. This is important in order to acclimatise the skin to the peel treatment, to maximise the benefits of the peel and to minimise any potential adverse reactions. The prep products and process will be clearly explained to you at your consultation.

After:

Everyone’s skin reacts differently, but generally you can expect the following:

• Immediately after treatment it is likely that the skin will be red and, depending on the peel type, there will likely also be tightness, dryness, peeling and flaking for around 3-7 days. 
• Highly Superficial Peels - It is likely that the skin will be red immediately post procedure; there will likely be tightness, dryness and minimal peeling and flaking for 3-7 days.
• Superficial Peels - It is likely that the skin will be red immediately post procedure; there will likely be tightness, dryness and mild to moderate peeling and flaking, similar to sunburn, for around 7 days.
• After your peel it is essential that you follow the aftercare advice given, to reduce the likelihood of any adverse reaction, to minimise downtime and to improve and extend the results achieved in clinic.

When you have your first mesopeel there is a 2 appointment process to ensure that your skin is properly prepped prior to your peel. After you've had your first mesopeel, you'll then be able to book in for follow-up peels, which are a single appointment:

Appointment 1: Initial Consultation

• A thorough skin consultation is carried out and full instruction is given on how to prepare your skin ahead of your peel
• The treatment cost includes 1 Mesoestetic® prep product for at home skin prep
• The date of the first mesopeel will be scheduled

Appointment 2: First Mesopeel

• The first peel will be carried out a minimum of 2 weeks after Appointment 1, to allow time for the at-home skin prep
